Fix Windows Problems with Online Technical Support

Posted on 03:13 by Unknown

The article is intended for informational purposes only. The information covers what online technical support is, how it helps users with their Windows problems, whether should they opt for it or not. It is all about internet today and how it helps people connect across the world for a variety of things like computer, technology, technical services, and science among others.

Computer is Life:
Computer is what we eat, live, and sleep today as our life totally centers on it. Besides, there are printers, routers, scanners, gaming consoles, and projectors etc. that equally play an important role in associating with a computer and making our life simpler.
Since computer is just an assembly of different pieces of hardware, it tends to malfunction at times. In other words, it can be said that computer and technical problems go hand in hand. When problems occur, we know for sure what to do. We tend to call up a techie friend (a friend in need is a friend indeed) or a local repair shop to immediately fix the problem. This idea generally runs into problem when users don’t have time to attend the technician at their home\place due to hurry and busyness in their office, business, school, enterprise etc. It is a universal truth that one will be busy in his/her personal and/or professional life. It has prompted users to look for service options that save them time as well as money without having to run to and fro.

Online Technical Support Services:
Time shortage is one among those other things like convenience, ease of use, readiness, affordability etc. that have generated the need for online tech support services. These have allowed us to become more productive by saving the time that would otherwise be spared for a technician to come home and fix Windows-based computer problems. This option has also allowed us to save greater on our computer repair bills that would otherwise dig a hole in our pocket.

Other benefits of the online tech support include readiness, service is read to be availed any time of the day or night; convenience, you simple have to dial the toll-free number or get online to chat with an expert; quality, support is provided by expert/certified technicians; affordability, this certainly has to be thing that the whole world is after for and it is there for you; and ease of use, you just relax and sip your coffee while the technician fixes your Windows-based computer.

Service Options:
There are a number of online technical service providers that offer Microsoft product support for Windows users. They have teams of Microsoft-certified technicians that deal with all the issues related to Microsoft Windows. They also offer customized Windows 7 support, Windows Vista, and Windows XP support.

Below is the list of issues that are covered in online tech support packages:
Common Problems:
  • Windows installation errors
  • Windows upgrade issues
  • BSOD (blue screen of death)\STOP error
  • Windows service pack and update issues
  • DVD\CD drive problems
  • Printer problems
  • Driver issues
  • Internet browser and Outlook mail issues
  • Windows login issues
  • Audio\video troubles
  • Language issues
  • Wireless network problems
  • Microsoft Security Essentials & virus removal problems
  • Windows shutdown and restart problem
  • Windows slowdown or performance issues
  • Miscellaneous issues
Areas catered to:
  • Individual users (home)
  • IT enterprises
  • Small business
Things to Keep in Mind:
  • The company should be registered and operating a legal and valid business.
  • The company should have a valid and legal mode of payment. It should also not take payment on an individual name but should be on the registered name of the company.
  • The provider should have an independent customer review policy for fair and legal business operation. These reviews help a new customer make his decision about that company.
  • Check the company’s website for detailed information. A nice looking and well designed and written website would surely catch your eye. Keep this also in mind that a nice looking website does not always ensure you of the quality service.
  • Check and compare the technical support plans with competitors’. This will give you an insight of the prices and help you make your decision more comfortably.

How to Configure Firewall on a Belkin Router

    Posted on 04:33 by Unknown
The article intends to describe the method of configuring the built-in firewall protection on a Belkin router. The method compiled here is simple and correct until date. It is still recommended that users follow the instructions carefully to avoid facing problems. This will also save them time and money that would otherwise be spent on contacting Belkin router support for help.

Belkin routers due to their great signal strength and security features are an excellent choice for wireless connections. The built-in firewall enables you to allow or refuse accessibility to specific programs, functions, and ports among others. The firewall doesn’t only protect your wireless connection from unauthorized access or virus infections but also allow certain features or functionalities like port forwarding to run on your computer. Though configuring firewall is quite easy in a Belkin router, you might find it cumbersome to proceed. Don’t worry! The below mentioned guide will enable you to self-configure the router firewall without the help of Belkin technical support.

    Instructions:

If your computer is a wireless connection and this is the only computer you have in the house, then make it a wired connection using the Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the cable into the computer and other into any of the 4 LAN ports located at the back of the router. If you have more than one computer, then use one of them as a wired connection to perform these steps.
Connect to the internet if you aren’t connected automatically. Open your internet browser like Internet Explorer etc. and type ‘http://192.168.2.1’ (without quotes and as is) in its address bar. Press the Enter key on the keyboard to proceed.

When the login screen comes up, enter the password and click on the Submit button. Check your router documents for credentials. If you never changed your password, then leave the password box blank. This is because the Belkin routers are shipped without any password.

When logged into the router setup utility, navigate to the Firewall option on the left hand side pane on the window. Check the status. If it is disabled, click on the Enable button to activate the firewall. Click on the Apply Changes button to save the settings. Exit router’s interface. Your wireless connection is fully protected now.

Disconnect the Ethernet cable if you want to use wireless connection on that particular computer. Enjoy the secured and protected internet connectivity. You can also disable the firewall using the same procedure.
If you want to configure the firewall for port forwarding, then follow this procedure. You must have the IP (internet protocol) address pertaining to the computer you desire to forward the port to and the port numbers (UDP or TCP). Login to the router’s setup utility (configuration page) using the abovementioned procedure. Browse to the Firewall option (as mentioned above) and click on Virtual Services.

Type a name of the application (like remote connection etc.) in the Description box, enter the intended port numbers, and choose TCP or UDP from the dropdown menu. Enter the intended IP address pertaining to the computer you desire to allow access to. Type the intended port numbers for Private port. When done, click on the Apply Changes button. Exit the interface screen.

    Additional Tips:

The router’s firewall can be enabled or disabled for port forwarding, active server client, and wireless connection among other things.

How to Reset Dell Computer Password

    Posted on 02:10 by Unknown
The article intends to help users reset password in their Dell computer using simple methods. Though the instructions have been designed in a simple manner, it is still advised that users follow them accurately to avoid getting into common Dell PC problems and eventually contacting Dell technical Support for fixing them.

It often happens that we misplace or forget our password(s) due to busy schedules and have hard time remembering these. Things like these often occur at the most unfortunate times and users feel at a loss. If you are one of those users who have suffered from this type of situation, then the article is for you. The below mentioned guide will let you know the ways to reset your password on your own. This essentially means you won’t need to spend time on phone or chat with your Dell help & support services.

    Instructions:

If it’s the normal user account (not the admin) that you need to reset the password for, then it can be done easily. Login to the computer using your admin password, click on the Start menu, and go to Control Panel. Locate and double click on the User Accounts icon. When the window opens, reset the password of that particular account. Retype the password in the respective field. When done, click on Apply if it is there or else click on the OK button to exit the window. Close all the windows.

If it is the Admin password that you want to reset the password for, then it can be done in two ways. Log in to your computer from another admin account (if there is more than one admin account on your computer) and reset the password for your admin account. The other way is to use the password reset disk and reset the password. It is to be noted that this password reset disk must have been created in advance. Insert it into the drive of your computer. When prompted for a password to login, type any wrong password in the box and hit Enter on the keyboard. Having recognized that you have entered a wrong password, it will prompt you to reset the password. Now you can reset your password as desired. Retype the password to confirm and get going.

    Additional Tips:-

If you never created a password reset disk, create one. It is very useful especially at times when you have lost or misplaced your admin password. The disk will let you reset the password for admin account without which you won’t be able to login to your computer.

If you have lost or misplaced your admin password and never created a password reset disk, then download and install a free or paid (as per your convenience) password recovery tool from a trusted website. Follow the wizard instructions and install it on your computer. This will bring up your password in some time.

How to Access Yahoo Mail Account Using Microsoft Outlook

    Posted on 01:57 by Unknown

The article intends to describe the procedure of accessing Yahoo! mail account in Microsoft Outlook. The methods described in the article are simple and correct to the date. However, it is still recommended that users follow the instructions carefully to avoid facing any problem during Yahoo mail account setup in Microsoft Outlook.

We all know that Outlook is the most popular email client among Windows users for email, contacts, calendar entries, reminders, and journals among other personal information. If you have a Yahoo! mail account and want to use it in Microsoft Outlook to send/receive emails, then the article is dedicated to you. The below mentioned guide will help you setup your Yahoo! account without requiring you to contact an expert Microsoft tech support or Yahoo support services.

    Instructions:

Since Yahoo! doesn’t support POP3 server in a free account (it is only for the paid subscribers), you will have to choose any of the two methods mentioned below to access your Yahoo mail account in Outlook.
For a free Yahoo mail account:

Download YPOPs 0.9.7.1, the latest version of YPOPs, the automated tool designed for Yahoo! mail accounts. The tool acts as a POP, IMAP etc. interface between Yahoo! and Outlook.

Open Outlook, click on the Tools tab, and select Account Settings from the dropdown list. When the Account Settings window opens up, click on New under the E-mail tab. Ensure that Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP option is selected under Choose E-mail Services and click on the Next button. Fill in your credentials like your name, email address, and password in the Auto Account Setup window. Retype the password if required, click to check the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and click on the Next button.  Click to select the Internet E-mail option and click on Next. Enter your email account credentials in the Internet E-mail Settings window. Enter your name, email address, account type (it will be POP3), and incoming and outgoing server information etc. The incoming server will be ‘pop.mail.yahoo.com’ and the outgoing mail server will be ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com (without quotes and as is). Your username will be your email address and the password will the one you use to login to your Yahoo mail account. When done, click on the More Settings button and then click on Next. Click on the Advanced tab at the top (in next window), enter ‘995’ (without quotes and as is) in box next to Incoming server (POP3) and place a checkmark in the box below saying ‘This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)’. Type ‘465’ (as it is and without quotes) in box next to Outgoing server (SMTP) and select SSL from the dropdown box next to Use the following type of encrypted connection. Put a checkmark in the box next to Leave a copy of messages on the server. This will enable you to have access to your email messages online also. If you don’t check this option, all of your mails will be downloaded to Outlook and you won’t be able to see any of these mails if you are away from your desktop computer.

Now click on the Outgoing Server tab (on the same window), put a checkmark in the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and click to select the box below Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Click on the OK button and you will be back to the Internet E-mail Settings window. If you want to test the settings, click on the Test Account Settings button. If it returns a congratulating message, then click on the Close button to return to the same internet settings window. If it returns a failure message, then go back to the settings, and verify all the information you have entered. When done, click on the Next button on the Internet E-mail Settings window and then click on the Finish button to close the Account Settings window.

Upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus Service:

Yahoo! Mail Plus is a paid service from Yahoo! You will need to subscribe to the service in order to get access to full POP3 service. Once subscribed, you will be able to setup and use Yahoo account using POP3 in Outlook. Follow the same abovementioned instructions to setup and configure your Yahoo mail account in Outlook.

    Additional Tips:

It has been observed that users often face issues related to mails, username, password etc. after installing YPOPs or similar other tools. The tool(s) may or may not perform effectively and as desired. Therefore, download the tool on your own risk. We strongly recommend that you upgrade to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service and then setup your Yahoo account in Outlook to start sending or receiving emails.

    How to Remove McAfee Products

    Posted on 02:20 by Unknown
The article has been designed to help users remove McAfee products from their system using simple methods. The methods described in the article are simple and correct to the date. It is still advised that users follow the instructions carefully to remove the desired product and avoid running into common McAfee product problems.

McAfee products are ranked among the best security products for computer systems. However, sometimes users may want to uninstall their McAfee product(s) for the reinstallation purpose or due to unwanted technical issues or meddling with third-party programs or hardware among other reasons. Though it is easy to uninstall the McAfee products, you may still run into problems that might prompt you to contact your McAfee support services. However, the below mentioned guide will help you get rid of the McAfee product(s) on your own.

    Instructions:-

Click on the Start menu, go to Control Panel, and then double click on the Add or Remove Programs icon to open it. Wait until the window populates with all the programs. Locate the particular McAfee product or suite like McAfee Internet Security etc. and then click on the Change/Remove button. When prompted, click on the Yes or OK button to proceed. If you see that only some files are being offered to remove, click on Yes, for all to remove all the files. When prompted, reboot the computer to let the removal procedure complete and save changes.

Windows Vista/7 users click on the Start menu and type ‘programs and features’ (without quotes and as is) in the Start Search menu and hit Enter on the keyboard. When the window opens, click Uninstall a program, select the particular McAfee product like McAfee Internet Security etc., and click on the Uninstall button. When prompted, click on the Yes button or whatever option you see there to proceed. Wait until the process completes and prompts you to reboot the computer. You must reboot your computer when prompted to let the changes save.

Finally download and run a free or paid registry cleaner, an automated tool, to clean up the empty and/or damaged registry entries of the uninstalled McAfee program. Make a backup of the registry (the automatic tool will let you create a restore point) before running the registry cleaner. This shall completely remove the desired product along with its traces from your computer.

If the abovementioned method doesn’t completely remove the desired McAfee program(s), then download the MCPR.exe tool from McAfee’s website to download the tool. Click on the Save File button and save the file to a desired location where it is easily accessible from. When done, locate the file, and double click on it to open. Run the file (run as an administrator in Windows Vista/7) and wait until the process completes. When you receive the message Cleanup Successful, reboot your computer. If you want you can view logs of the uninstalled program and save these to a Notepad. When done, contact your McAfee technical support and give them the log details to confirm that McAfee products have been fully removed from your computer.
If everything else fails, then go to the McAfee website, login to your McAfee account by entering the username and password, and unsubscribe to your product by clicking on the Deactivate button.

    Additional Tips:

The MCPR.exe (McAfee Consumer Product Removal) tool will uninstall all the versions (from 2005 to 2011) of McAfee consumer products. The tool doesn’t support Windows ME and 98.

    Repair Safe Mode: Windows fixer!!!

    Posted on 23:42 by Unknown
Windows’ Safe Mode is a bare-bone version of the operating system that is often used for troubleshooting PC issues. It is available under all versions of Windows and can be started by tapping on the F8 key during start-up of the operating system. It is for instance handy to uninstall software in Safe Mode that you cannot uninstall under the regular OS. Another area where Safe Mode shines is the removal of viruses and malware that has infested the OS.

Malicious software sometimes disables Safe Mode among other things to prevent an easy recovery of the system. That’s a problem if you do not want to reinstall or restore the operating system, or do not have the means to do that.

Windows Safe Mode Fixer is a straightforward application that can be used to repair the Safe Mode, so that it becomes accessible again. With the help of this tool you can repair windows safe mode without contacting online technical support.

The troubleshooting software needs to be run from within the operating system, which may be the program’s biggest downside. If you still have access to Windows you can run the program to repair the Safe Mode. If you do not have access anymore, the program won’t do you any good.

A short explanation and three buttons are displayed on start-up. The program requires no installation and can be started directly after downloading it from the developer website.

The tool does not explain what it does to repair the Safe Mode, only that it does repair the troubleshooting mode. A click on the Fix button applies the repairs to the operating system and restarts the system automatically afterward. It is recommended to safe all work and open windows before you click on that button.

The developer recommends disabling all antivirus and firewall solutions prior to pressing it. I personally would not recommend that, and would use it as a last resort if pressing the button without doing so did not fix the broken Safe Mode.

You should try to boot into Safe Mode during that restart to find out if the issue was fixed by the program. I recommend pressing F8 repeatedly after BIOS until you see the selection menu with Safe Mode as an option.

    Posted on 23:34 by Unknown
Microsoft has been providing their users with newer versions of Windows; still XP is one of the best and has a very simple user interface. So there needs t be a very good security system in XP. But unfortunately it is not so.

When you talk about security, there is a basic need of your contents in the computer being safe. The safety of your files and folders is a must. Again the reliability of the security system should be of preserve quality. But if you expect this from the XP Internet Security 2012, you will be utterly disappointed. This application is said to be an anti-spyware, but it is not so and it misleads the users to pay for the services. You can make a call to the Microsoft Support and ask about this option in the XP Internet security 2012.

Now, when you know its fake, do not pay attention to the messages displayed by the application. Do not waste your hard earned income on a fake application but rather you can go for the best ones. Uninstall it as soon as possible and therefore get the other best application in lieu of it. Microsoft has stated that a very detailed research would be made on this malicious application.

Again, this application provides a remote access to some of the systems, which means that if you go for buying the application, your bank details will be sent to the systems which can get the remote access to your computer. So, if you are using this malicious application, make sure that you do not share any valuable information.

Buying this application will not provide you a complete computer protection. Moreover you do not get any registration key along with this application. So it is better to remain aloof from this application and search a better one. You can also get the help about the anti-virus from Online Technical Support.
